Fen Ditton Gallery is delighted to announce that leading UK photographer Paul Hart will be giving a talk about his work and signing copies of his new book ‘Drained’ on Thursday 18 October at 6 p.m. 

Paul is currently part of our ‘Trees Observed’ exhibition which includes a stunning black and white image from ‘Drained’, alongside three other images from his earlier publications with Dewi Lewis publishers ‘Farmed’ and ‘Truncated’. Hart, who is based in Lincolnshire, has recently been nominated for the prestigious Wolf Suschitsky Photography Prize, for this new series of silver gelatin prints that capture the extraordinary physical qualities of everyday farmed fen landscapes. Devoid of people, the images are nonetheless rich in the traces of human activity through time. 

As critic Francis Hodgson says: Hart is a photographer interested in the slow harvesting of hidden truth from the ordinary places that most of us pass by.
