Re-thinking Seaweeds with Rebecca Jewell and Iona Turner

Artists / makers Rebecca Jewell and Iona Turner explore the potential of seaweed as an artistic medium

Rebecca and Iona both work with seaweeds as their source material for their art and jewellery. At this event Rebecca will discuss her research into the increasing use of seaweed by companies making alternative, biodegradable products, to replace plastics. She will talk about her investigations into making prints and artworks using these new products.
Iona will reflect on her transformation of seaweed into necklaces and sculptural forms. Rooted in Scottish coastlines and seascapes, her work embodies a search for belonging within the local ecology and a profound dialogue with nature.

Both artists will bring along examples of their work and will discuss their methods and processes.

Tickets are £10pp via Eventbrite here

The talk is 4-5pm followed by drinks reception
