Sara Impey: Apples

About the Artist:

For the last 30 years, Sara Impey (b.1953) she has been making and exhibiting textile artworks based on quiltmaking techniques that feature stitched lettering. With a background in journalism, she writes her own texts, enabling her to use the textile surface to play with language as a design element. Her quilts have been exhibited nationally and internationally and she has work in several museum collections, including the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Museum of Art & Design in New York and the International Quilt Museum in Nebraska. Her book 'Text in Textile Art' was published in 2013.
