New job opening: Gallery Assistant

Fen Ditton Gallery are looking for a part-time Gallery Assistant to join the team and support Gallery Manager Hannah Munby in the next steps of the gallery’s journey

The role would suit someone practical and dynamic, with a keen interest in art and design, looking to gain hands-on experience in an independent gallery setting.

The successful candidate will be involved many strands of the gallery work, including exhibition invigilation; assisting with in person and online events; supporting social media and e-marketing campaigns; packing and installation of physical shows; dealing with sales and enquiries.    

Fen Ditton Gallery holds an exciting programme of curated exhibitions, artist residencies and events, and the successful applicant will need to be hard-working and adaptable to support projects which range from the Young Collectors Club; Art and Environment residencies and exhibitions and the Contemporary Printmaking Prize.   

We are looking somebody who is keen to learn in an exciting, new environment, reporting directly to the Gallery Manager Hannah Munby and providing additional support to Gallery Owner Lotte Attwood.

This is a flexible, self-employed position which involves weekend hours

Preferred but not essential skillset:

  • Experience in a sales-based environment

  • Knowledge of social media and e-marketing including content creation and design

  • Use of Squarespace CRM

  • Handling of works of art

The job will begin in May 2025, ahead of the opening of the Copper and Wool exhibition on the 22nd May.
