Ana Pacheco was born in Lisbon and now resides in London. Having completed a masters degree in architecture and Ana was awarded an Inov-Art grant from the Portuguese government, which enabled her to relocate and kick-start her career as an architect.
Pacheco’s work explores the synergy between architecture and printmaking. Ana uses leftovers from framers’ mountboards to create the plates, scoring, peeling and cutting them, creating geometric plays, very much inspired by her architecture background and her love for the Bauhaus movement. These will then be inked and printed on a book press using several layers with different colours, creating a wealth of textures and geometric compositions.
These works have been recently exhibited and selected to be part of 251st Summer Exhibition – Royal Academy of Arts (London, UK); Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair (London, UK); Open Exhibition - Royal Cambrian Academy (Wales, UK); shortlisted to the Print International Competition – Ty Pawb (Wales, UK), Derby Print Open (Derby, UK; awarded with Air Arts Award), amongst several other exhibitions in London and Lisbon.
