Robert Powell is a multi-media artist based in Edinburgh. He has an MA Fine Art Painting and MFA in Art Space and Nature, both completed at the Edinburgh College of Art

The Library of the Blind was created as part of a cycle of work about haunted objects, titled Phantom Things. The subject is a Borgesian infinite library in the shape of a Piranesi prison. It is intended to represent a sort of memory of the world of amnesiacs

Powell has received the Golden Hare Award in 2020, the Detail Framing Prize Award in 2019, the RSA Meye Oppenheim Prize 2018 and SSA Deliotte Award 2014.
