We are delighted to welcome back American sculptor, Willard Boepple, to the gallery next Wednesday to hear more about his work with printmaking and how his collaboration with Kip Gresham at The Print Studio, Cambridge has become a significant part of his artistic practice. Willard is in the UK working with Kip again this autumn and we are grateful that he will be taking the time out of their busy printing schedule for this event.
This event is taking place as part of our current ‘Going Yellow’ exhibition, which includes two of Willard’s exquisite monoprints. And don’t forget the exhibition is also supporting the outstanding work of Hospice UK as part of their Go Yellow fundraising campaign.
Many of you will remember the wonderful exhibition ‘Shards and Sources’ at Fen Ditton Gallery earlier this year. This juxtaposed new low relief sculptures by Willard with their ‘sources’ - the prints that Willard and Kip have created together over twenty years of fruitful collaboration. The majority of the prints are shipped directly to US galleries and clients so it is wonderful to be able to show, and sell, them here close to their source!
During the May exhibition, the gallery hosted a conversation between Kip and Elenor Ling, the Senior Curator of Prints and Drawings at The Fitzwilliam Museum, which holds an extensive modern and contemporary print collection including examples of Willard’s work. You can listen to that conversation here, and we are looking forward to following that conversation with reflections from Willard himself.
We look forward to welcoming you back to the gallery.
